Installed the eSIM and it is not connecting: what to do

The checks in the right order, from the most common to the rarest, so you fix it before it ruins a day.

Sep 07, 2026

Most of the time the eSIM is installed correctly and one setting is missing. Go in order: the first three items solve almost everything.

1. Have you landed yet?

The plan only connects to a network in the destination country. Installed at home, it sits ready and waiting. That is not a fault, it is how it works, and it is why you can install days ahead.

2. Is the eSIM selected as your data line?

Installing is not the same as using. In your phone settings, pick the eSIM line for mobile data. Without that, the phone keeps trying to use your usual SIM.

3. Is data roaming on for THAT line?

It sounds contradictory, but it is required: the eSIM uses a local carrier as a partner network, and your phone calls that roaming. Turn data roaming on only for the eSIM line, and keep it off on your home SIM so it never charges you.

4. Still nothing

  • Turn airplane mode on and off, then wait a minute.
  • Restart the phone.
  • In the eSIM line settings, find network selection and leave it on automatic.
  • If manual network selection is available, pick a carrier from the list and test it.

5. None of that worked

Write to us with your order code. We can see the status of your line on our side and either tell you the next step or sort it out with the carrier.

What is almost never the problem: the QR Code. If the eSIM shows up in your phone list of lines, the install worked and the issue is settings or network.
