How to install an eSIM on Android

The wording changes from brand to brand, but the steps are the same. Have the QR Code we emailed you open on another screen, or ready to print.

Samsung Galaxy

• Settings, Connections, SIM manager.
• Add eSIM, then Scan QR code from service provider.
• Point the camera at the code and confirm.

Google Pixel

• Settings, Network and internet, SIMs.
• Tap the plus sign, then Download a SIM instead.
• Scan the code and confirm.

Motorola

• Settings, Network and internet, SIMs, Add SIM.
• Choose Download a SIM instead and scan the code.

After installing

Name the line something you recognise, pick it as your mobile data line, and turn data roaming on for that line only. Your usual SIM stays active for calls and texts.

Install at home, before the flight. The QR Code stays valid, so there is no rush to use it the moment it arrives.
