How to install an eSIM on iPhone

It takes under a minute and should be done before your trip, on Wi-Fi. Installing does not start the plan.

Before you start

• Connect the iPhone to Wi-Fi.
• Have the QR code open on another screen.
• Make sure the iPhone is not carrier locked. A locked phone will not install another carrier eSIM.

Step by step

• Open Settings and tap Cellular or Mobile Data.
• Tap Add eSIM.
• Choose Use QR Code and point the camera at it.
• Name the plan, for example after the destination.
• Set your usual line as Default Line, and the new plan as Cellular Data.

When you land

• Turn data roaming on for the Mondial Chips plan only.
• Keep mobile data off on your home line so it does not bill roaming.
• If it takes long to connect, toggle airplane mode once.
